Speed limit on all highways in Spain temporarily lowered to 110

From March 7, the speed limit on all Spanish highways will be temporarily lowered from 120 to 110 km/h. The government hopes to reduce the gasoline usage after oil prices have risen due to the conflicts in northern Africa, according to Vice-President Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba.

Thousands of people have since Wednesday afternoon taken the trip up to the mountains to enjoy the snow, and it is the first time since 2005 that it has been so much snow in Gran Canaria. Thursday morning it was -6 degrees in the mountains, while the south of the island was sunny and had 23 degrees at midday.

Dolphin found dead on the beach of Playa Quemada, Lanzarote

A dolphin was Thursday morning found dead on the beach of Playa Quemada in the municipality of Yaiza in Lanzarote. The dolphin is 2.20 meters long and the municipality said in a press release that they will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
